First Impressions of a Dream

My first impressions of a dream was that it was different and that I kind of like it. It made me feel the same but it made me think that he might be right and we are all just dreaming of dreaming when we fall asleep. This didn't help me write anything for my journal topic because I didn't see it before I did my journal topic.

My Essay Essay

Hawthorne made this story about a guy (Young Good Man Brown) who goes for a walk and leaves his wife alone in the house. He then meets an old guy which turns out to be the devil and want to give him a baptize reward, which is to look into people and know what their biggest crime is, his will give this to him for joining his faith. He is not tempted and then leaves to his home but cannot see everyone the same way because they know all of them hide a secret. The theme of Young Good Man Brown was to is to show that everyone has a dark side and has crimes they have committed. Young Good Man brown uses many different literary techniques to get show his theme like tone plot/setting and symbolism.

My thesis statement

I think that the main point of an essay is the reader being able to understand the writer. I think it is easier to write an essay with a prompt, depending on how good the prompt is. I would not know what to write about when I don't have prompt but sometimes I can, depending if I know a lot about the topic.

Young Goodman

1. I think that Hawthorne's purpose for writing this story was to entertain people and also say things about the government.
2. I think that Goodman's wife is aptly named after reading the story because Goodman brown does not trust his wife.
3. The pink ribbon signifies faith.
4. It might have been real thing and not a dream.
5. He is the devil because the way he acts and wears.
6. The staff represents his mind and his conscious and his deep feeling.
7. He would have probably trust everyone and not become skeptical.

The making of an Essay

So I wrote a lot of essays in school... I hated it. Mostly because I didn't know anything about the topic and I felt like I was repeating myself. All of the essays that was about me and what I did over the summer were very short because I don't do anything over the summer.

Thinking about what I want to think about

What happens after you die. That was my big question. We all have theories but no one really knows what happens. Some people say that before you die you have a flashback about your whole life and you see everything you did. That is only a theory because no one really knows what happens and if that did happen to someone they are dead so they can't tell us if it really happened. This is what people think when they are about to die and not when they are dead.

Most of the people around me I don't some I do. There are some people I don't like or care about. There are also people who I really care about and would do anything to help them. In my day I mostly do my homework. I do this to get good grades and go to a university and get a good job. I like to do this because you spend time to get something better out of the time you spend.

The earth on Turtle back

Today I read a story that native people told their children so that they would remember. This story is about a women who is pregnant and his husband uproots a tree, she falls in the hole and falls to the water. The animals catch her and then they try to help her by bringing earth to the top and save the women. They try but fail until a small muskrat and bring up earth. Then they put it on a giant turtles back and it grows. The women then is safe on the turtles back and plants seeds that she grabbed from the tree she uprooted and planted them then the earth formed. I personally think that his story is a myth because I don't think that the earth is a giant turtle because there are multiple islands.

The making of an Essay

Essays... I don't like them. I prefer to read, I don't like to read, then to do an essay. Doing essays in school are like standing under 100 degree sun for an hour. Yeah... its bad. In the past teachers had me do a brainstorm for making a good essay. I didn't like it because when I thought of something big and I wrote the small details I forgot about the big idea. Essays... I don't like them.
